چکیده

Abstract Contamination by numerous food-borne pathogens is a major challenge facing the food industry daily. Even though there are many strategies in fight against contamination, able to attach different surfaces and form biofilms biggest concern. Staphylococcus aureus common pathogen capable of forming on foods contact surfaces. The prevalence multidrug resistant S. high raw products, high-protein processed products. Bearing mind resistance antibacterial agents, aim this study was investigate antibiofilm activity an ethyl-acetate extract medicinal plant, Frangula alnus , ATCC 25923 43300. It demonstrated that reduced survival both tested strains up 67%. Furthermore, quantification biofilm biomass showed possesses extraordinary ability inhibit formation (up 91%). On other hand, effect preformed less pronounced measured only for 43300, wherein about 28% eradicated. results obtained encourage further investigation F. as novel agent or preservative industry.

Antimicrobial and Antibiofilm activity of Enzybiotic against Staphylococcus aureus

Background: Biofilms are communities of microorganisms embedded in a self produced polymeric matrix composed of polysaccharide, protein and DNA, adhered to inert or living surfaces. Researchers have focused on understanding the complex nature of biofilm and their reduced susceptibility to antibiotics. The use of biomaterials and indwelling medical devices like catheters increase probability of ...

Antimicrobial and Antibiofilm Potential of Acyclic Amines and Diamines against Multi-Drug Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MDRSA) remains a great challenge despite a decade of research on antimicrobial compounds against their infections. In the present study, various acyclic amines and diamines were chemically synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial as well as antibiofilm activity against MDRSA. Among all the synthesized compounds, an acyclic diamine, (2,2'-((butan...

Reduced sensitivity of staphylococcus aureus to vancomycin

Introduction: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common causes of infections in hospitals and vancomycin is used for the treatment of methicillin resistant S, aureus infections. Therefore, imergence of Staphylococcus aureus with reduced sensitivity to vancomycin is a serious problem. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus with reduced suscep...
